Understanding the Person Behind the Profession

Shamila Sharief is a UGC NET and SET qualified Psychology professional with academic and practical experience in psychology, teaching, research, psychological assessment and student mentorship. Her professional interests include psychological wellbeing, psychological assessment, research methodology, quantitative data analysis, counselling, student development and academic research.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Calicut University and a Master of Science in Psychology from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. She is also qualified in the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) for Assistant Professor Eligibility and the State Eligibility Test (SET), along with GATE qualification.

She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, where she teaches postgraduate subjects in Psychology and Counselling, supervises student research projects and academic assignments, participates in academic seminars and curriculum activities, and contributes to departmental research discussions and academic planning.

She has also worked as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Labour India College, Kottayam, where she taught postgraduate psychology subjects, including Experimental Psychology, conducted internal assessments and academic evaluations, and mentored students in research and academic skill development.
